Here are our tips to make the college moving smoother, now it’s just dealing with an empty nest and a teenager who thinks they know everything:
5. Use blue tarp bags to pack clothes and small decor items. These bags work great, are durable, have handles, and fold down small once they are used. They are also reusable and can be used for moving out.
4. If you need a shower caddy for the shower, be sure it has holes on the bottom. Water will collect in the shower caddy. The caddy will get gross really fast!
3. If you want a rug or an anything for the floor, go cheap and something that you don’t mind donating or discarding at the end of the school year. It’s a dorm room and it will get used and abused!
2. You may need a stool or small vanity chair. This especially comes in handy for an extra seat in the dorm or a step stool to get to a top bunk!
1. Lightweight plastic storage organizers are king! Before you buy your plastic storage, take a look at the layout of the room. You want to squeeze all available space but don’t go overboard! You need to see bed height, closet space, and extra available space and want to be sure your storage containers will fit.
Happy Moving and breathe a sigh of relief when it’s over! Remember what goes in the dorm room/apartment, must come out!
